I, Aarathy Jayakrishnan, as a member of Team Colloquia-ASB,
am very happy to share my experience on the most different and lively Colloquia session that was held in ASB, Coimbatore on July 26, 2012. The session was engaged by
Mr. Unni Nair, Squadron leader of Indian Air Force, a very energetic and
adventurous man who made us sing, dance, laugh and think during his session.
The session on ‘The Joy of Living’ began with him introducing himself as the
first cousin of our very own faculty member, Uday Kumar sir , who handles Self
Awareness and Personal Growth. He mentioned that both of them had dared to
think differently in life and taken paths less travelled to realize their
dreams and aspirations.
During the session , he focused on the attributes of
success like high energy, passion, adaptability, discipline and positivity.
Success requires one to follow a vision that constantly keeps one focused , to
be able to change and willingly let go of the old and embrace the new. He made
us wonder what people would think about us after we pass away and what our epitaph would contain. He stated a
beautiful quote which went ‘If you would
not be forgotten as soon as you are dead
and rotten either write things or do things worth reading’. He made us realize
that there is no age barrier to accomplish our bucket lists and living life to the fullest is absolutely necessary
as life is totally unpredictable. He
brought in puzzles for the students to
test their sharpness and creative thinking. The session was then taken to
another level with melodious music and dance. On the whole, he rebranded
Colloquia with a memorable session.
